NPF's Top-Two Teams Come to Daytona Beach

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Beijing Shougang Eagles will return home for the first time since June 27th when they host the USSSA Pride Wednesday at 6:35pm. Both the Pride (24-7) and the Bandits 25-7) have won five of the last six Cowles Cup collectively. These two series will mark the final home games for the Eagles for 2019.
The two series will weave through each other throughout July 24th to July 31st. The Pride will play the Eagles at Jackie Robinson Ballpark July 24th, 26th (Doubleheader), 30th-31st. The Bandits will take on the Eagles July 26th (Doubleheader), 29th-30th. The reason for the split up of dates is due to Beach Blast an event created by Babe Ruth to accompany their Softball World Series competition in Stuart, FL.
The Pride our led by former UCLA Bruin Allexis Bennett who is batting .355 through 29 games this season. Jolene Henderson leads the way for the Pride in the circle with a 8-4 record and 1.98 ERA.
The Bandits are led by former Michigan star Amanda Chidester who is batting .352 this season with 7 homers and 20 RBI's. The Bandits also have former Florida Gator star Kelly Barnhill. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NPF draft boasts a 2-0 record with a 2.06 ERA.
The Eagles are coached by Hunter Veach who was promoted from China's secondary team Head Coach this past year. Veach was previously an assistant for Auburn University's softball team. The coaching staff includes a mix of Chinese and American coaches. The team also features three Americans and graduates from Auburn, Kendall Veach, Angel Bunner and Victoria Draper.
