
Pride Take Series against Rebellion with 3-1 Win

Kissimmee, FL- July 21- The USSSA Pride (25-9) closed out the home series with Pennsylvania (9-27) with a 3-1 victory over the Rebellion Tuesday night at Champion Stadium.
The Pride led early but the Rebellion threatened to make a comeback in the late innings.
USSSA's Shelby Pendley continued her hot hitting from last night as she doubled home Kelly Kretschman in the first inning to put the Pride on top 1-0 after one at-bat.
USSSA doubled its lead in the second inning, 2-0, as GiOnna Disalvatore led off the with a single back through the middle of the infield and was driven home on Andrea Duran's opposite-field double down the left field line.
Megan Wiggins drove in pinch runner Breja'e Washington with a single to right field for the third USSSA run of the game in the forth inning.
Pennsylvania's Alisa Goler doubled to right, advance to third on an error, and scored on Mandy Ogle's single to cut the deficit to 3-1.
The Rebellion loaded the bases in the seventh with singles by Cordes, Sakamoto, and Peterson but NPL-saves leader Jordan Taylor escaped without allowing a run by striking out Kristyn Sandberg looking for the final out, preserving the 3-1 win for the Pride.
Keilani Ricketts (W, 6-2) started and tossed six innings of three-hit softball, yielding one unearned run, en route to notching her sixth victory of the year. Jordan Taylor (S, 10) finished out the game by tossing a scoreless seventh inning to record her tenth save of the season.
Emily Weiman (L, 1-6) started for the Rebellion and was tagged with the loss after giving up three runs on seven hits in her three innings of work. Haylie Wagner came in in relief, allowing a run on a pair of hits in in two frames. Dagmar Bloeming faced minimum in her one inning in relief.
The Pride will host the Akron Racers for a four game series starting tomorrow, July 22, at Champion Stadium. First pitch is slated for 7:05.
