Pride Sign Nashua's Own Reid Willett

(NASHUA, NH) Nashua Pride officials announced today that Nashua native Reid Willett has signed a contract for the 2008 season and will compete for a spot in the Pride rotation.

The 6 foot 5 inch righthander pitched the last three seasons for the Worcester Tornadoes and enjoyed his best season for 2005 Can-Am League Champion's, where he went 10-4 with a 3.56 ERA in 15 starts while striking out 61 in 98.1 innings pitched.

The University of Rhode Island Alumni was selected in the 21st round of the 2003 amateur draft by the Chicago Cubs. Willett pitched in the Cubs organization for two seasons before landing with the Tornadoes in 2005.

The Nashua native will be an integral part of the Pride's involvement in the local community and will be the face of the franchise in the Greater Nashua area. During the offseason Reid is a substitute teacher for the Nashua School District.

The Nashua Pride Professional Baseball Club, entering its eleventh season, provides a fun, affordable, community-based and fan-friendly source of sports entertainment. The 2007 Can-Am League Champions will be participating in its third year of play in the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball.
