Pride Sign Former St. Louis Cardinals Draft Pick

(Nashua, NH) - Nashua Pride team officials announced today that first baseman William Becher has signed a contract for this upcoming season.

Becher was selected in the 22nd round by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2004 amateur entry draft. In the 2004 season, the Mesa, Arizona native batted for a .286 average with 11 home runs and 41 runs batted in for the Cardinals Johnson City, Tennessee affiliate in the Appalachian League. The New Mexico State star maintained a stellar .420 average with 32 home runs and 118 runs batted in during his 2003 collegiate season.

The Nashua Pride, entering their first year of play in the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball, play their home games at Historic Holman Stadium. Prior to joining the Can-Am League, the Pride played for eight seasons in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, winning the 2000 Atlantic League championship.
