
Pride, Rox, And Tornadoes To Hold Open Tryout

(NASHUA, NH) The Nashua Pride, in conjunction the with Worcester Tornadoes and Brockton Rox, will be hosting an open tryout at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field during the second week of April.
Advanced registration is available by completing a registration form, remitting a registration fee of $25 and mailing both to the Worcester Tornadoes, ATTN: Tryout Camp, 303 Main St., Worcester, MA 01608. On-site registration will take place at the ballpark at noon on Friday, April 11, and will require a $50 registration fee. On-field workouts will run from 9am-4pm on Saturday, April 12. Kevin Hartigan, an area scout for the New York Mets, and Tornadoes Manager Rich Gedman and his coaching staff will oversee the tryout.
"We're excited to offer this opportunity for aspiring professional ballplayers to showcase their skills," said Tornadoes President and General Manager R.C. Reuteman. "We're always on the lookout for talent, and by teaming up with Brockton and Nashua to hold this tryout, we're hopeful we'll come across a diamond in the rough."
Prospective ballplayers will be contacted by one of the three teams after the conclusion of the tryouts, if a team chooses to offer them a contract for the 2008 season.
The Nashua Pride Professional Baseball Club, entering its eleventh season, provides a fun, affordable, community-based and fan-friendly source of sports entertainment. The 2007 Can-Am League Champions will be participating in its third year of play in the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball.
