OKC Energy FC (12-5-7) goes for its six straight win as the club takes on Real Monarchs SLC (4-13-8) at Rio Tinto Stadium in Salt Lake City. With 43 standings points, Energy FC is currently atop the USL's Western Conference table, one point ahead of second-place LA Galaxy II. Energy FC became the first Western Conference team to secure a playoff berth last Saturday, after the club defeated the Austin Aztex 2-0 and Orange County Blues FC downed Portland Timbers 2. The playoff berth is the first in OKC history.
OKC forward Danni König leads the USL in goals, having tied Kevin Molino's USL record of 20 in last Saturday's match against Austin. König's next goal this season would set a new USL record for goals scored in a season. The Danish forward has scored 16 of his goals in OKC's last 14 games.
Energy FC goal keeper Evan Newton registered his ninth shutout of the 2015 season last Sat- urday, leaving him two shy of the current league lead of 11 held by Rochester keeper Brandon Miller. The USL record for shutouts in a season is 11.
Including the match with Real Monarchs SLC, OKC has four remaining matches, including a Sept. 6 visit to in-state rival Tulsa and a Sept. 12 home match against third-place Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC. Just five points separate the top six teams in the Western Conference.
