Mississippi Surge News Release
The Mississippi Surge will now turn its focus to the start of the regular season after concluding its preseason slate with a 4-2 loss in an exhibition scrimmage to the Pensacola Ice Flyers Friday afternoon. The loss ended the Surge's preseason at 1-1, after a 4-2 victory Thursday night at Louisiana.
Head coach Jeff Bes, the reigning Coach of the Year in the Southern Professional Hockey League, will start trimming the roster in preparation for the regular season opener a week from Saturday. With the preseason in the rearview mirror, the Surge announced a new child's ticket price in effect for the coming season. Tickets for children 12 and under are now just $10. The $10 child's ticket price applies only to walk up ticket sales. Season ticket holders will get their first chance to mix and mingle with Surge players on Monday evening at the Shed BBQ restaurant in Ocean Springs. It's the annual season ticket holder face-off party where fans pick up their season tickets and get introduced to the players. The Surge will begin its fourth season of play in the SPHL on Saturday October 27th at home against the Pensacola Ice Flyers. Once again, this season, the Surge will have 28 home games at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. Season tickets for the 2012-13 Surge season are on sale now. The team is also holding a jersey sale, with several jerseys, including game worn jerseys, available at bargain prices. For more information call 228-594-3800 or log onto www.mssurge.com.
