ORLANDO - Feb. 16, 2015 - The Orlando Predators announced today that the franchise has agreed to terms with defensive end Brandon Copeland. Copeland enters his rookie season in the Arena Football League after spending the past two seasons in the National Football League with the Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens.
"Brandon is a high character player that brings leadership qualities from his experience as a team captain at an Ivy League school," said Head Coach Rob Keefe. "He has an excellent combination of both power and athletic ability. Brandon is also a dedicated and hardworking player and I expect him to make a quick transition to Arena Football."
Copeland (6-3, 245, Pennsylvania) was a three-time All-Ivy League selection during his collegiate career at the University of Pennsylvania. He started 30 consecutive games and registered 160 tackles with 11 sacks, 26.5 tackles for loss, an interception, four pass breakups, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, one blocked kick, and one safety. Copeland helped Penn claim three Ivy League championship titles during his four-year career.
Copeland signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2013 before joining the Tennessee Titans as a member of the practice squad.
The Orlando Predators 2015 season opener against the Philadelphia Soul is scheduled for 7:00pm on Sunday, March 29 at the Amway Center in downtown Orlando. Tickets are available for purchase by calling 844-455-PRED (7733).
