Orlando Predators News Release

ORLANDO, FL - Predators quarterback Jason Boltus has been awarded the Russell Athletic Offensive Player of the Week the League office announced Tuesday. Boltus, who currently leads the League in passing yards (1,886) and passing touchdowns (41), is having an MVP caliber season for the Predators.

The quarterback shined bright on the biggest stage of the young 2014 season, as he completed 21 of 27 pass attempts (77-percent) while throwing for 365 yards and 9 touchdowns against Tampa Bay. Boltus was also able to reach the end zone on the ground, which gave him a total 10 of touchdowns on the night. He was able to spread the wealth around all night, as all three of his starting receivers had at least two touchdown receptions. The team scored 77 points in the contest, which is the most ever scored at home in a game in team history. It was also the highest point total for any team in the AFL this season.

Boltus has now had three straight games with at least eight touchdowns and four straight games with at least 330 passing yards. Despite his recent success, the quarterback continues to give credit to his teammates and coaches. "It's an honor to be recognized by the Arena Football League, but this award was earned by our team," said Boltus. "I have the privilege of playing with a dynamic group of receivers and the offensive line has provided me with outstanding protection. Even Tanner Varner answered the call and filled in at wide receiver this week when we needed him. I wouldn't be able to perform at a high level without the support of my teammates."

Catch Jason and the American South Division leading Orlando Predators in action this Saturday, April 26 at CFE Arena. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. EST and tickets can be purchased by calling the Predators ticket office at 407.648.4444.
