
Predators Acquire Trio of Rookies for Castille Monday

ORLANDO, FL - The Orlando Predators have acquired wide receiver Quentin Sims and defensive backs Syd'Quan Thompson and Andre Freeman from the San Jose SaberCats in exchange for defensive back Simeon Castille and future considerations the League office announced on Monday.
Sims (6-3, 205, Tennessee Martin) played two seasons at Georgia Tech for Head Coach Paul Johnson before transferring to Tennessee Martin. The wide receiver had a standout senior season in 2012 when he collected 86 receptions for 1,092 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Thompson (5-9, 190, California) was drafted as the 225th overall selection in the seventh round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos. The defensive back was a four-year starter at Cal and was also a First Team All-Pac 10 honoree as a junior and senior in 2008 and 2009.
Freeman (5-11, 185, Slippery Rock) earned All-Conference honors as a junior in 2011 while at Slippery Rock. The defensive back started 27 games at Slippery Rock, where he finished his career with 134 tackles and two interceptions. Freeman signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted rookie free agent following the 2012 NFL Draft.
Castille (6-1, 190, Alabama) was a key member of the Predators secondary for the past two seasons. The defensive back lead Orlando with 108.5 tackles and seven interceptions as a rookie and collected 38.5 tackles and two picks in nine games with the team last season.
