
Power Sign Ashton Smith and Daryl McCoy

(Mississauga, ON -) The Mississauga Power have signed guard Ashton Smith and forward Daryl McCoy, pending FIBA clearance. Smith, from Scarborough, Ontario has played 20 games for the Saint John Mill Rats this season. Before joining the Mill Rats, Smith played for IUP, where he averaged 18.2 points per game, 4.1 rebounds per game and 3.3 assists per game. Daryl McCoy joins the Power as a rookie out of Drexel University. The 6'9 forward/centre started 27 games for the Dragons last season, where he averaged a team best 8.6 rebounds per game.
To make room for the new players, the Power have released guard Tyler Murray and forward Lavione West. VP of Operations John Wiggins stated:
"As a team our objective is to have a strong impact in the playoffs this coming March. Power Basketball is happy to provide our newest team members, McCoy, Smith and Plummer with the opportunity of helping to turn around the direction of this team."
