Moline, Ill.- A popular phrase in professional hockey is "special teams win championships." In the second period Quad City tacked another marker to extend its lead to 2-0. Mallards winger Chad Woollard skated end-to-end and slipped his first postseason goal past Cloutier at 11:58. The goal came one-second after a Mallards power play expired.

Winger Matt Radoslovich picked off a pass in the IceHogs zone and snuck it past Cloutier just :26 second into the final frame. Rockford attempted a comeback and it started with a Nicolas Corbeil goal. Corbeil fired home his second playoff goal past Jason Tapp to ruin his shutout at 12:51.
