Mississauga Power News Release
The Mississauga Power are pleased to announced the resigning of all four remaining protected players from last year's team, pending FIBA clearance. The four core players returning to the Power are leading scorer Nick Okorie, forward William "Bo" Harris, guard Mark Gomillia & forward Kirk Williams Jr. "When it came time to look at the list, we realized each of these players were the cornerstone of our success last year", stated John Wiggins, VP of Operations. "Having them back to set the tone at training camp as veterans with a bad taste in their mouth from last year will help drive our objective to make the playoffs".
Okorie, Harris & Gomillia were all starters from last year's 2012-2013 campaign. Williams Jr. joined them after the beginning of the season and was the catalyst to an early push to the top of the NBL Canada rankings. "It feels great to be back with the Power organization" stated Harris, "I am excited to interact and become a pillar in the Mississauga Community, POWER UP!"
The four original Power players join Jonathan Semira & Dusan Virijevic as players officially signed to play for the 2013-2014 season. "It's one of the easiest decisions we've made since moving to Mississauga. We would've signed everyone on our protected list if possible", stated Wiggins.
The Mississauga Power will play at London against the Lightning on November 2nd before tipping off their home opener November 5th against the Brampton A's. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster. Visit www.powerbasketball.ca for details
