Power Come out Victorious in Battle at Coliseum

(Moncton, NB -) The Power headed to Moncton tonight to battle with the Miracles in the Coliseum. The teams exchanged leads throughout the game with the Power hanging on in the fourth quarter to take the 84-81 win, snapping a 12 game losing streak. Greg Plummer had another spectacular game with 25 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Dwight McCombs chipped in with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Jonny Mayhane led the Miracles with 20 points.

The first half was a low scoring affair, with strong defensive effort leading to offensive struggles for both teams. The Miracles took a 38-37 lead headed into halftime.

The Power had a strong third quarter, outscoring the Miracles 27-21, fueled by a 21-6 run that started early in the quarter. The Miracles were able to cut the Power's lead to 5 heading into the final frame. The teams exchanged leads multiple times in the final quarter. The game came down to the final seconds, as a late steal and dunk by Kirk Williams Jr. put the Power up three. The Miracles turned to Johnny Mayhane for a potential game tying shot that rimmed out, giving the Power their first win since December 15.

The Power continue their east coast trip in Halifax tomorrow before returning home on January 25th to take on the London Lightning.
