Powell Returns to Mammoth
January 28, 2014 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Colorado Mammoth News Release
DENVER - After missing the first seven games of the 2014 NLL season, forward Casey Powell returns to the Colorado Mammoth. Powell will make his season-debut this Sat., Feb. 1 against the Minnesota Swarm on HealthONE Field at Pepsi Center.
"Casey was tremendous after we acquired him late last season," said Mammoth president & general manager Steve Govett. "We're thrilled to have him back."
The 2010 NLL MVP registered nine goals and 23 assists in just six regular-season games for Colorado a season ago. He led the Mammoth with six points (three goals, three assists) in the West Division Semifinal.
In December, Powell notified the organization that personal reasons would prohibit him from playing. Now he's back and ready to perform.
"I can't wait to hit the floor and help this team win games," said Powell. "Saturday night is going to be a blast!"
Forward Drew Westervelt returns to the 20-man Active Roster after missing this past weekend's game due to commitments with the U.S. Men's National Team in Florida. Transition player Mat MacLeod has been placed on the Injured Reserve List, while transition player Jackson Decker returns to the Practice Player List.
Tickets to Saturday's game (Wooly's Birthday) start at just $10 and are on sale now at the Pepsi Center Box Office and Altitude Tickets.
