Snohomish County Explosion News Release
The Explosion announced today that Rashaad Powell sustained a knee sprain in last night's game against the Tacoma Jazz. While it is not considered to be a severe injury, he will sit out for 2 to 3 weeks before returning to action this season.
Along with Powell being out, Jamaal Miller will be absent after tonight's game for the next 3 weeks. Miller is scheduled to return to Romania to help his former team (CSS BC RAMNICU VALCEA - Romania) finish out the season. Miller will return to the Explosion in early June.
"While we will miss having Powell and Miller on the court, we have the ability to rely on our deep bench to fill the gap in their absence," said General Manager Brad Sturlaugson. "We knew Jamaal would have to go back to help his old team out and we are lucky to have such great talent on the team to handle injuries and player obligations," he added.
The Explosion will take to the court this evening at 7pm at the Everett Event Center to play the Tacoma Jazz. The Explosion won last night's game against the Jazz 140 to 111.
