Omaha Supernovas News Release
OMAHA, Neb. - The Omaha Supernovas have the opportunity to clinch a berth in the inaugural Pro Volleyball Federation Championship Friday night at the CHI Health Center. With a record of 12-7, the Supernovas can secure their postseason spot with a win over the Grand Rapids Rise (10-9) and a loss from the Columbus Fury (6-11).
The Fury are currently sixth place in the league standings and host the Orlando Valkyries (7-12) Friday night at Nationwide Arena with first serve set for 6 p.m. CDT. With a win and Columbus loss, Omaha would exceed the maximum number of wins that the Fury could achieve (12) therefore sealing up a spot in the postseason for the Supernovas. The first-place Atlanta Vibe (17-5) are the only team to have locked up a postseason berth while also securing the No. 1 seed.
First serve between the Supernovas and Rise is set for 8:30 p.m. CDT with Omaha making its debut on CBS Sports Network. Friday will be the first of three appearances on the cable network for the Supernovas. Paul Sunderland and Madison Fitzpatrick will be on the call.
Fans can also listen to the Supernovas Radio Network which is led by the flagship station 93.7 The Ticket. Award-winning broadcaster Derrick Pearson and AVCA High School Coach of the Year Renee Saunders will provide commentary.
