Portland Makes Flyers' Schenscher 16th Gatorade Call-Up

GREENVILLE, S.C., March 15, 2007 - The Portland Trail Blazers have signed center Luke Schenscher from the NBA Development League's Fort Worth Flyers to a 10-day contract. Schenscher is the 16th GATORADE Call-Up of this season, the second of the month for the Trail Blazers and the fourth from the Flyers.

In 34 games (34 starts) with the Fort Worth this season, the 7-1, 265-pounder averaged 24.2 minutes, 9.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocked shots while shooting .512 from the floor. His rebounding totals were tied for fourth in the league.

Undrafted in the 2005 NBA Draft, Schenscher inked the first of two 10-day contracts with the Chicago Bulls on March 5, 2006, before being signed for the remainder of the 2005-06 season. In 20 games with the Bulls last season, Schenscher averaged 1.8 points and 1.5 rebounds in 7.5 minutes while shooting .615 from the field. He scored a career-high 10 points to go with four rebounds vs. the Trail Blazers on March 14, 2006.

A native of Australia, Schenscher played four seasons (2001-05) of college basketball at Georgia Tech. He posted career averages of 7.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.3 blocks.

Thirteen (13) different D-League players have earned a total of 16 GATORADE Call-Ups this season and there have now been 84 total callups spread among 60 players since the D-League began play in 2001-02. Following is the complete list of 2006-07 D-League to NBA GATORADE Call-Ups:
