Portland IBL Team Signs Former University of Washington Guard Trey Simmons

Portland, Oregon The International Basketball League's Portland Chinooks professional basketball team agreed to terms with Seattle native Trey Simmons today. Simmons, who graduated in June 2005 from the University of Washington, was ranked seventh in the Pac 10 conference last year averaging 16 points per game. While playing for the Huskies he maintained an 88.6% free throw accuracy rate, and racked-up double-figure points in 28 out of 33 games last season.

The 6'5", 200 lb guard will return from playing overseas this month to begin training for the 2006 IBL season.

"We could rattle off a thousand impressive statistics about Trey- First Team All Pac 10, NABCL Selection- but he is simply a great addition to an already impressive roster," said Chinooks General Manager Tim Joseph.

The Portland Chinooks will commence their second at the Rose Garden versus the Vancouver Volcanoes on March 12th 2006 under the ownership of Terry Emmert. The team finished third in the Western Conference in 2005, with three players ranked among the top-15 scorers in the league.
