Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, official ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, have announced today that F Matt Pope has been released from his Professional Try-Out Contract (PTO) by the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League. He also has subsequently been loaned to the Manitoba Moose (AHL).
Pope, 24, recorded a point in each of his first three career AHL games, after signing a PTO on March 8. In total, the Langley, British Columbia, native had 2g-1a and a plus-1 in four games with the B-Sens. He has signed a 25-game PTO with the Moose and is expected to play Wednesday night in Rochester.
The Bemidji State University grad currently ranks t-8th in the ECHL in points with 63 on the season. Pope still leads the Condors with 30 goals on the season, becoming the second Condors rookie in as many seasons to reach the mark. Pope's point total serves as a new Condors rookie record.
PLAYOFF OUTLOOK:
The Condors currently hold down the final spot in the National Conference playoff picture, with a .018 win percentage cushion over the Phoenix RoadRunners. Phoenix is in action tonight in Las Vegas.
Bakersfield trails the Stockton Thunder for the third place spot in the Pacific Division, just .023 in win percentage behind, with one head-to-head meeting left in the regular season, this Saturday at Stockton Arena.
NOTES FROM THE NEST:

Wednesday's game is also the My First Library Book Collection. Any fan donating a new or gently used children's book can receive $1 admission, as part of the Bakersfield Californian's book drive that benefits less fortunate local school children.
On Friday the Condors battle the Grizzlies for the final time in the regular season, for Matt Caruana Bobblehead Giveaway, sponsored by ABC23 and U.S. Army. The first 2,000 kids, 12-and-under will get a bobblehead of the Anaheim Ducks prospect, who was leading the team in goals at the time of his recall to the American Hockey League earlier this season.
