September 19, 2014 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada)
Island Storm News Release
(Charlottetown, PE) The Island STORM announced today the signing of fan favorite Adrian Moss, a 5'9" point guard from Centralia, Illinois.
Moss has spent two years in the NBL Canada after being drafted 6th overall by the Kebs in the 2012 NBL Draft, then traded to the London Lightning helping them win their second NBL Canada Championship.
Last season Moss averaged 11.6 points, 6 assists, and 5.5 rebounds per game for the STORM. He shot 41.5% from the floor, nearly 40% from the 3 point line, and 78% from the foul line. He was one of only five players to record a triple-double last season, coming against Halifax on March 24th, 2014 when he scored 17 points, handed out 15 assists, and grabbed 10 rebounds. Moss was 2nd in the NBL last season with 282 total assists while finishing 4th in assists per game. Moss was also All-NBL Canada Honorable Mention last season.
Moss played his college ball at Div. 2 University of Indianapolis where he average 18 points and over 5 assists per game. During his college years Moss was named a 3rd Team All-American and an Academic All-American.
"I am very happy to return back to the Storm to play for Coach Salerno and staff," say Moss. "I have built great lifetime relationships with teammates and others in the STORM organization and I am confident that our staff, returning players, along with the new faces can bring a championship to the Island! The Storm organization has always proved to be A-1 and is absolutely a great situation for me. I am excited to return as a leader of this team and to play along some of the best players in the NBL."
Meanwhile, STORM head Coach Joe Salerno is pleased to have Moss back. "Adrian is a big time re-signing for us. He was a huge part of our Finals runs last year and has proven to be one of the most consistent point guards in the NBL over the past two seasons. Some guys just have winning built into their DNA and Adrian is one of those guys. He is as fierce of a competitor as we have had here on the Island, and his heart makes up for whatever he lacks in size. I think fans grew to love him last season for those two reasons alone. He brings a competitive edge to our ball club, one that we will need this season if we want to make another push for the Finals. We are very fortunate to have Adrian back, and I know he is looking forward to playing another season her on PEI, and trying to bring that trophy home for our great fans!"
Season tickets for the upcoming season, which starts Thursday November 6th in Charlottetown at Eastlink Centre against the Saint John Mill Rats, are now on sale. Meanwhile, single game tickets to STORM Basketball go on sale Monday October 6th.
