Plymouth Whalers News Release
PLYMOUTH - The Plymouth Whalers - in association with Tim Hortons - will be appearing at Tim Hortons in Livonia from 3-5 pm on Wednesday, June 6 to help raise proceeds towards the Tim Hortons Children's Foundation during their annual Camp Day fundraiser.
Whalers Danny Vanderwiel and Mitchell Dempsey will be working as guest servers at the Tim Hortons located at 33500 Plymouth Road, just west of Farmington Road. The phone number of the Tim Hortons Livonia location is (734) 427-0653.
Vanderwiel and Dempsey will be available for photographs and autographs and will be passing our tickets to 2012-13 Whalers games, among other prizes.
Camp Day is the one day each year when every penny from coffee sales at Tim Hortons stores across Canada and the United States will be donated to the Tim Horton Children's Foundation. Campers aged nine to 12 years old attend a 10-day summer camp session or a seven-day winter camp session, at one of the Foundation's six camps in Canada and the United States.
"I think every hockey family I know - in fact, everyone involved in the game of hockey supports Tim Hortons," said Denise Ronayne, Plymouth Whalers Director of Sales and Marketing. "They are an amazing partner who constantly gives back to the community and actively supports local youth hockey programs. We are proud to get our Whalers players into their stores on Camp Day."
Last year, the Camp Day initiaitve raised more than $9.9 million CDN ($9.5 million U.S.), surpassing $9.7 million CDN in 2010. The Whalers - along with many other Ontario Hockey League and Canadian Hockey League teams - will be doing their part on Wednesday.
