Montreal Impact News Release

The Montreal Impact announced Tuesday that tickets for the upcoming playoffs were on sale.

Tickets are available by calling the Impact offices at 514-328-3668 or via the Réseau Admission at (514) 790-1245. Prices for tickets are the same as during the regular season - $15 for reserved seating, $10 (adults) and $5 (children) for general admission.

The Impact qualified for the playoffs, and earned a bye into the semi-finals scheduled for the 23rd and 25th of September. One of these two games will be played at Claude-Robillard Sports Complex.

The winner of the semi-final round, who will be determined on aggregate goals, will advance to the championship final which will take place Saturday, October 1.

A goal by Antonio Ribeiro in the 5th minute allowed the Montreal Impact (16-2-7) to clinch its fourth regular season championship in club history, beating the Vancouver Whitecaps (11-5-9) 1-0, Wednesday, in front of 8,917 fans at Claude-Robillard Sports Complex

With only three games remaining, the Impact will set a new mark for fewest losses in a season. The previous record of six was set in 1996, and equalled in 2003 and 2004.

With his sixth game-winning goal of the season against Rochester, Sunday, captain Mauro Biello equalled his previous record established in 1997. Eduardo Sebrango also scored six game-winners in 2002.

Defender Adam Braz was selected to the Canadian national team for its scheduled international friendly against Spain, September 3. He flew to Madrid on Monday and was therefore not available for Wednesday's game against Vancouver.

Defender Jason DiTullio will be out of the line-up for the rest of the season. He left the game against Virginia Beach on August 26th in the 32nd minute, after suffering a knee injury. He will go under surgery in two weeks.

Midfielder Zé Roberto suffered a knee sprain on July 29, against the Atlanta Silverbacks. He is expected to return in time for the playoffs.
