September 23, 2010 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Sporting Kansas City News Release

Coming off a dramatic 4-3 victory on Wednesday at CommunityAmerica Ballpark, Kansas City Wizards supporters can now purchase a special Playoff Push ticket package that includes a bleacher ticket to the final three home games of the 2010 regular season for just $45. All three home matches will be played on Saturday nights against teams ahead of the Wizards in the playoff race, beginning this Saturday at 7:00 p.m. CT against FC Dallas.

The package also comes with priority consideration for purchasing 2010 playoff tickets, should the Wizards advance to the postseason.

The Wizards moved into third place in the Eastern Conference standings with an exciting 4-3 win over the Houston Dynamo on Wednesday night at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. Striker Josh Wolff scored in the game's final minute of stoppage time to complete a furious three-goal comeback and improve the Wizards to 6-3-1 in their last ten MLS matches.

Kansas City is now three points out of the final playoff position, currently occupied by both San Jose and Seattle, both teams who the Wizards will face at home in October.

The $45 ticket offer allows supporters to buy bleacher tickets to all of the Wizards final three home games at a discounted rate, and ensures a seat in advance as only 100 packages will be made available due to the limited number of tickets remaining for the final three chances to see the Wizards play at home in the 2010 regular season.

The Playoff Push ticket package can be purchased by calling 888-4KC-GOAL.

A strong home field advantage could prove pivotal for Kansas City in their remaining three home games as they look to return to the postseason for the third time in four years. FC Dallas brings a 16-game unbeaten streak to Kansas City on Saturday, followed by Seattle on Saturday, October 9th. The Sounders have lost only once in their last ten games, matching Kansas City for the most points of any team in MLS over a current 10-game span.

The regular season finale will then be played at CommunityAmerica Ballpark versus San Jose on Saturday, October 23.The Wizards clinched a playoff spot in the regular season finale in 2007 and the postseason race could again come down to the final day in 2010.

Kansas City is 6-3-3 at CommunityAmerica ballpark this season and 18-11-13 over the last three years in the team's temporary venue, being used until the state-of-the-art, soccer-specific stadium opens nearby in Village West in June 2011. Construction on the $160-million venue can be viewed via a live webcam online .

Please note: The Kansas City Wizards next match is Saturday, September 25th at 7:00 p.m. CT against FC Dallas at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. Tickets can be purchased by visiting KCWizards.com or by calling 888-4KC-GOAL. The Wizards are also now accepting initial payments for season tickets for the 2011 season, highlighted by the debut of Chivas Guadalajara star and Mexico international Omar Bravo, and the opening of Kansas City's state-of-the-art soccer stadium next summer.
