Brookings Blizzard News Release
We are pleased to announce to you in our second feature of the Ground Round Player Spotlight winger, #6 Ryan Sete. Joining the Blizzard in the middle of last season, Ryan has been a great veteran for the team this year. He is originally from Jackson, Michigan and is a 2012 graduate of Culver Military Academy. Ryan has been playing hockey for the last eighteen years. Ryan has two siblings, Leo Jr. and Katie and is the son of Leo and Patty. He is also enjoying his second season living with the Swanson's of Brookings.
Some of Ryan's favorite hobbies are reading, sleeping and hanging out with friends. He doesn't think he could live without steak and his biggest pet peeve would have to be a dirty room. One interesting fact about Ryan is that he's Tongan. Some other favorite things of Ryan's to note are that he loves his Detroit Red Wings, Pavel Datsyuk, and the color pink. One thing Ryan could never see himself doing is dancing.
In the past, Ryan has spent time on the lacrosse, soccer and football fields as well as hockey rinks around the country. His favorite hockey memory happens to be when he was called up last year from the Cincinnati Swords (NA3HL) to your Brookings Blizzard. His goals this season include making the playoffs and a run to the Robertson Cup Championship.
Being brought to Brookings as a Defenseman and then moved to offense, Ryan has seen his fair share of ice time. So far this season, the Blizzard have used Ryan's game IQ and hard work ethic to reach their success. Ryan believes his hard work and compassion are what he brings to the table for the team. Blizzard fans can get used to seeing Ryan, as he is a staple of Brookings hockey.
In his time in junior hockey, Ryan has been working toward his biggest dream. After the conclusion of this season, he hopes to be recruited to play college hockey. Join us on Friday, October 3rd where the first 300 fans will be rewarded with a Ryan Sete Ground Round playing card!
