Philadelphia KiXX News Release

Philadelphia, PA, February 19, 2007 - The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) announced today that player/coach Don D'Ambra was named the League's Co-Offensive Player-of-the-Week for the seven-day period ending February 18. The honor is his third weekly accolade of the season and the seventh of his career.

The Philadelphia native paced the KiXX with four goals in the club's visit to California on February 17, where the team won in dramatic fashion, 18-16. With the KiXX down 14-8 and just under two minutes remaining, Sandre Naumoski and D'Ambra combined for two goals each to send the game to overtime, where rookie Tony Donatelli buried the game winner 40 seconds in. D'Ambra scored with 1:27 left on the clock to pull Philadelphia to within four, and then sent the game into an extra session with only one tick remaining in regulation. With the nine-point outburst, the 13-year veteran is now ranked fourth in the MISL with 56 points. D'Ambra also ranks first on the team in both points and goals (21) and second with assists (13).

The Northeast Catholic product made his indoor professional debut with the Milwaukee Wave in 1994 and was later traded to Philadelphia for their inaugural season of 1996-97. D'Ambra is one of only two players (Peter Pappas) to be with the KiXX since their inception and as such, he holds nearly every offensive record in club history including games played (371), goals (339), and game-winners (41). He was named to the League's All-Rookie Team in 1994-95, the All-MISL Second Team in 2003-04, the All-MISL First Team in 2004-05, and the League's All-Star Team for both the 2002-03 and the 2003-04 campaigns. Overall, D'Ambra has now received Player of the Week honors seven times and Player of the Month honors once.

Teammates Pat Morris (Defensive), John Barry Nusum (Offensive), Genoni Martinez (Defensive), Edgar Bartolomeu (Offensive), and most recently Peter Pappas (Goalkeeper) also received weekly recognition this season.
