Pittsfield Suns Break Futures League Attendance Record

PITTSFIELD, MA (August 28, 2014) - The Pittsfield Suns were first in Future's League attendance this season and ranked 16th in the nation in average attendance.
Suns attendance increased by 45% in 2014 for a total attendance of 46,913 over 26 games this summer. In its inaugural year with the Future's League, the Worcester Bravehearts were second in the league with 43,716 total attendance. The Future's League saw it's total attendance increase by 19% in 2014.
The Suns was also ranked 16th in the nation in attendance by average, averaging 1,803 per game.
Suns General Manger, Kevin McGuire, said of this year's success, "On our inaugural opening night back in 2012, we asked the Berkshires to give us a try and believe in us. In three short years they have done this in overwhelming fashion. None of this is possible without the steadfast support of everyone from the mayor to our corporate partners and the fans that come to historic Wahconah Park throughout the summer. On behalf of the Goldklang Group, the Suns staff, and myself we cannot thank everyone enough that makes what we do possible. We look forward to a long stay here in Pittsfield."
Pittsfield has seen its attendance increase over the past three years, ranking third in the Future's League in 2013 with 28,524 and second in 2012 with 32,261. They were tied for 31st in attendance by average in the nation in 2012 and ranked 41st in 2013. The slight decrease in 2013 was because of multiple rainouts at Wahconah Park at the beginning of the season.
