Laredo Lemurs News Release
Laredo, TX - The Grand Prairie AirHogs pick up two runs in the bottom of the eighth to take the final lead of the game and pull off a 3-1 win over the Lemurs in the opening of a four game set in Grand Prairie, Texas.
Both starting pitchers put together strong efforts with Lemurs starter Josh Strawn going six complete, giving up one run, on six hits, with three walks, and three strikeouts. He did not earn a decision in the game.
Brandon Bargas got the start for the AirHogs and he went seven and a third, giving up only one run, on five hits, with six strikeouts, without earning a decision for his efforts as well.
The only run Bargas gave up was a monster home run hit by Lemurs clean-up batter Travis Denker. It was his third homer of the short 2014 season.
Yhency Brazoban picked up the win, only going two thirds of an inning in the eighth to erase the two base runners the Lemurs had at second and third.
The loss goes to Estevan Uriegas for the Lemurs as he gave up two runs, in the bottom of the eighth. Andres Rodriguez lead off the inning with a base hit, and Palmer Karr Jr. followed that up with a triple to bring home Rodriguez. Karr would later score in the frame on a base hit by pinch-hitter Vince DiFazio.
