Pirates Announce 2004 Exhibition Schedule

PORTLAND, ME – The Portland Pirates have released their exhibition schedule which is comprised of four exhibition games against Atlantic Division rivals in early October. The Pirates two home games will be against the Manchester Monarchs on Saturday, October 2nd and the Providence Bruins on Friday, October 8th. Both games will be at 7:00 pm at the Cumberland County Civic Center.

Tickets for the Pirates home exhibition games will be available to the public beginning on September 17th. Fans can purchase individual tickets for just $5 (Captain's, Main, Quarter and Crow's Nest). Group tickets are also available for the exhibition games for $3 (Main, Quarter and Crow's Nest) by calling the Pirates at (207) 828-4665 x350. Individual tickets can be purchased at the Civic Center Box office or by calling (207) 775-3458. Tickets will also be on sale at the Pirates "Welcome Back" party on September 29th from 5pm-8pm at the Cumberland County Civic Center.

The Pirates exhibition game on Saturday, October 2nd will be preceded by the Portland Junior Pirates (Midget AAA) game against the Long Island Gulls. The next day the Pirates will face the Monarchs in Hooksett, New Hampshire at the Tri-Town Ice Arena at 4:00pm. The Pirates will face their New Hampshire rival 10 times (including five home games) during the 2004-05 regular season.

The Pirates second half of the pre-season slate includes two games against the Providence Bruins. On Wednesday, October 6th, the Pirates will face-off against the Bruins at the Boss Ice Arena at the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, RI at 7:00pm. The Pirates will return home on Friday, October 8th when they'll host the Bruins at the Cumberland County Civic Center at 7:00pm for their final pre-season game. The Pirates are 52-46-14 all time in regular season meetings with the Bruins and will face each other 10 times (including five home games) during the 2004-05 season.

Friday, October 8 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Providence at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland, ME

The Pirates will open their twelfth AHL season at home against the St. John's Maple Leafs on Saturday, October 16, 2004, at 7:05pm, Hockey Night in Portland, at the Cumberland County Civic Center.
