Pioneers reassigned Todd Bargella

Wilkes-Barre, PA- The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers are pleased to announce the returning of Nanticoke native Todd Bargella for the 2006 roster. Todd was a standout player in seven games for the Pioneers in their 2005 season.

Before playing for the Pioneers, Bargella played at Lackawanna College and Western Carolina University. The 6'5 200 pound Bargella played both tight end and defensive tackle in his two seasons at Western Carolina. As a junior in 2002 he played in 11 games registered seven receptions for 55 yards with one touchdown. On defense he totaled 12 tackles, 3 for a loss and 2 sacks. In 2003 he played in 12 games catching 5 passes for 53 yards while making 12 tackles, 4 for a loss and 2 sacks. Bargella was named All-Southern Conference in both years at Western Carolina.

"After viewing game tapes I feel Bargella will be one of the leagues best pass rushes," said Head Coach Rich Ingold, "With his size and speed he really can come off the edge."
