Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers News Release
Wilkes-Barre, PA- The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers will be holding their second open tryout for the upcoming 2006 af2 season. Tryouts are scheduled for Saturday, February 4, 2006 at the River Front Sports Complex. Registration will begin promptly at 9:00 am.
"We will be signing players from this tryout," said Pioneers Head Coach Rich Ingold. "In the past I have had great success finding players in these open tryouts. In 2003, I found two receivers who caught for over 1,000 yards, one of whom is playing in the AFL today."
The Pioneers Coaching staff has signed two players, pending league approval, from the team's last tryout on November 12. The team will be looking for players to add to their training camp roster.
Players interested in tryouts must be prompt and come prepared with registration fee, work out gear and spikes/turf shoes. There will be a $40 registration fee. Players with any questions about tryouts or the testing format are encouraged to contact Pioneers Head Coach Rich Ingold at (570) 760-3608.
