Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers News Release
(Wilkes-Barre, PA) The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers are proud to announce the signing of Pioneer standout, Doug Harding, to the AFL's Georgia Force. Harding was a fan favorite in the Pioneers' 2006 season. The Fullback/Linebacker played in 15 games for the Pioneers and recorded 29.5 tackles, and led the team in sacks with a total of 6.5 for a loss of 35 yards.
"I was overwhelmed with Georgia's facilities and how well they treated their players, and because of that, it sealed the deal for me," stated Harding when asked about why Georgia was a good fit for him.
"I would like to say thank you to the Pioneers' fans, the Pioneers' Organization, and the great coaching staff. I didn't expect the loyalty I and the rest of the team received. I am very glad I came to Wilkes-Barre because I was treated right and it was a great experience for me."
"If things don't work out in Georgia I would definitely come back to play for the Pioneers before any other team. Coach Ingold has done so much for me and he is such a great coach that I would jump at the opportunity to play for him and this great city again."
The Pioneers' Organization would like to congratulate Harding on his accomplishments and signing with the Georgia Force. We thank him for the hard work and determination he displayed both on the field and off the field for the Pioneers.
