Pioneers Assigned Two Pennsylvania Standouts

Wilkes-Barre, PA- The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers would like to announce the arenafootball2 league has assigned Beau Elliott and Tyre Young, two former IUP players, to the 2006 training camp roster.
Beau Elliot the Offensive/Defensive Lineman was a three year starter for the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Indians. Elliot the 6'3 325 pound lineman started in eleven games at center his freshman year. Beau was selected the team's Freshman of the Year, only the second offensive lineman to ever win the awards. In Elliot's starting senior year he recorded 23 pancakes and was chosen to the First Team All Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. Beau played in 32 of 34 games during his career at IUP.
Tyre Young the FB/LB joined the IUP football team as a sophomore after transferring from Pittsburgh. Young, 6'0 310 pounds, played in eight games as a nose tackle for the Indians and made 39 tackles including 18 solo tackles. In 2001 Young played in nine games as a true freshman at Pittsburgh. He made a total of 23 tackles in that year.
"Being a former IUP Indian myself, I understand the commitment and honor it is to play there." said Head Coach Rich Ingold, "I know these men are very well coached and prepared under legendary Coach Frank Cignetti. Beau and Tyre are next level prospects."
