
Pioneers 2003 Individual Game Tickets On Sale Thursday

Wilkes-Barre, PA - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers are pleased to announce tickets for all eight 2003 home games will be available for purchase starting Thursday, March 27th at 10:00AM. Tickets may be purchased through Ticketmaster at (570) 693-4100 or at www.ticketmaster.com. Fans may also purchase game tickets at the First Union Arena box office or through other Ticketmaster outlets.
The Pioneers 2003 home opener will take place Friday, April 11th against the Mohegan Wolves and will be celebrated as "Johnny Unitas Tribute Night." Mr. Unitas' son, John Jr., will address the crowd prior to kickoff and serve as honorary team captain. J.C. Unitas, Mr. Unitas' grandson, will participate in the pre-game coin toss.
"We're looking forward to welcoming John Jr. and family as we take our next step in the Pioneers' partnership with the Unitas family," said Pioneers President/Managing Partner Greg Smith.
The Pioneers have dedicated the 2003 season to the memory of Johnny Unitas, and will retire number "19" in a banner-raising ceremony prior to the game. In addition, all players on the team's roster will wear number "19" on their helmets for the duration of the season.
