Pioneer Baseball League Announces Mid-Season Tryout Camp

The Pioneer Baseball League presented by TicketSmarter today announced that the league, designated as an MLB Partner League, will conduct a Mid-Season Tryout Camp to be held at Memorial Stadium in Boise, Idaho on July 30th and 31st, 2022.
Prospects at the camp will be scouted by representatives of each of the 10 PBL clubs and a draft will follow the conclusion of play on July 31st. Each PBL club will sign at least two players to either their then current roster or for an invitation to their 2023 spring training camp.
"Following the conclusion of the MLB First Year Player Draft from July 17thto July 19th, a lot of very good players who didn't get drafted will be looking for opportunities," said Pioneer League President Mike Shapiro. "Our clubs are looking to beef up their rosters for the second half of the season and for the playoffs. We expect to find quite a few players at the tryout camp to help with the stretch run."
25 players were signed by PBL clubs following the 2022 Pre-Season Tryout Camp held in Tucson, AZ in April.
The camp will include a pro-style skills evaluation day on Saturday, July 30th from 9am to 3pm followed by an inter-squad game on Sunday, July 31st.
