FORT MYERS, Fla. (August 21, 2012) - Josmil Pinto continued his red-hot second half by driving in the go-ahead run in Fort Myers' 3-2 win over the Bradenton Marauders on Tuesday at Hammond Stadium.

Pinto roped an run-scorning single through the left side of the infield with one out in the eighth on a 3-2 count against Zach Foster. The hit plated Jhon Goncalves from third to break a 2-2 tie. Goncalves reached on a single and advanced to third on a bloop single to center by Lance Ray.

Michael Tonkin got the final out of the eighth and pitched a perfect ninth with two strikeouts to earn his first win in a Miracle uniform.

Miracle starter Matt Summers settled down after a two-run first inning and pitched 5 2/3 innings. He struck out six, walked three and gave up two runs on five hits in the no decision.

Bradenton took a 2-0 lead in the first. After Summers struck out Andy Vazquez and Gustavo Nunez to start the game, Mel Rojas blasted a solo home run to right field to make it 1-0.

Alex Dickerson followed with a single up the middle and later scored on a base hit by Elevys Gonzalez for a 2-0 lead.

The Miracle started to chip away in the fifth. Daniel Ortiz led off with a double to left-center off of Bradenton starter Casey Sadler and moved to third on a ground out. Another ground out by Steve Liddle to deep second allowed Ortiz to come home and cut the Marauder lead to 2-1.

Anderson Hidalgo knotted the game in the seventh against reliever Quinton Miller. Ortiz started the inning with a single, moved to second on a walk and scored on an RBI single off the bat of Anderson Hidalgo.

The Marauders had a chance to retake the lead in the top of the eighth but a great relay by the Miracle defense killed a potential rally. With one out, Alex Dickerson laced a double down the right field line. He tried to stretch it to a triple, but the relay throw from Lance Ray to Andy Leer to Hidalgo at third beat him to the bag.

The Miracle (54-70, 26-31) and Marauders (57-69, 28-28) continue their three-game series on Wednesday. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. Join the "Voice of the Miracle" Brice Zimmerman and Adam MacDonald for the broadcast beginning at 6:45 p.m. on miraclebaseball.com.
