PIFL Names Players of the Week

NASHVILLE, TN (June 17, 2014) - The Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) announces that Nashville Venom WR Jordan Jolly, Nashville Venom DB Kenny Veal, and Richmond Raiders T.C. Stevens are the Week 12 Players of the Week.
Continuing to be one of the PIFL's hottest teams, the Nashville Venom won their fifth straight overall behind a 15 reception 226 yard performance from the Week 12 PIFL Offensive Player of the Week in WR Jordan Jolly. Jolly, along with teammate Phillip Barnett, combined to scorch the Lions secondary for 330 yards en route to a division clinching 60-56 win over the Lions. This is Jolly's second go-round as the Offensive Player of the Week winner, previously won the award back in Week 8 and marks the fourth Venom player in the past five weeks to earn a weekly honor.
Despite the offense racking up over 350 yards of total offense, it was key scores by the defense that aided the Venom in their division clinching win on Saturday. DB Kenny Veal came up with two key first half turnovers of which included a fumble recovery scoop and return for a 29-yard touchdown along picking off his third pass of the season. Veal's score was the first of two fumble recoveries for a TD by the Venom helping him earn the Week 12 Zoombang Defensive Player of the Week. With the division in- hand, Nashville will set their sights on gaining home-field throughout the playoffs beginning with road meeting in Richmond.

For the second in three weeks Richmond Raiders K T.C. Stevens earns the Vidswap.com Special Teams Player of the Week honor. It was a record setting night on Saturday with Stevens setting two all-time single-game PIFL records including scoring a total of 22 points in the Raiders 46-29 over the Stampede.
Stevens also set a record by nailing five field goals (48, 29, 22, 19, 45) propelling him to front of the pack as he now leads all kickers in scoring with 90. Winners of four straight, Richmond is in full control of their playoff destiny and will host Nashville on Saturday setting up a pivotal win and you're in matchup against Lehigh on the season's final week.
