Pier-Olivier Pelletier Voted CHL Performance of the Week

(Tempe, Arizona) - The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that Laredo goaltender Pier-Olivier Pelletier has been voted the winner of the CHL Performance of the Week for the week of March 8-14. The Bucks goaltender recorded 34 saves in his team's 3-2 shootout win over the Texas Brahmas on March 14. Pelletier stopped 29 of the final 30 shots he faced and turned away al four shooters against him in the shootout.

The St. Louis, Quebec native received 1319 votes accounting for close to 50% of the 2,694 total votes cast. Pelletier finished ahead of Rapid City's Scott Wray (850 votes) who scored the game winning goal with 1:14 remaining in Rush's 5-4 win over Allen on March 13.

The nominees for the CHL Performance of the Week for the final week of the regular season, the period beginning on March 15 and ending on March 20 are as follows:

-Mississippi's Ryan Held scoring with just over two minutes remaining in 5-2 win over Tulsa extending his point streak to nine games on March 20

-Colorado's Ryan Tobler notching three points (1-2=3) in 3-2 win at Arizona on March 20

-Bossier-Shreveport's John DeCaro making 27 saves in 5-0 shutout of Missouri in home finale on March 19

-Amarillo's Jake Morissette scoring shootout GWG in victory over Rapid City on March 19

-Arizona scoring six power play goals and one shorthanded goal in 7-6 victory over Colorado on March 19

The voting for the CHL Performance of the Year will begin on Monday, March 29 and will run through Monday April 12 and be announced on Wednesday, April 14.
