Piasa Drop Two in a Row
Published on January 9, 2012 under Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL)
Illinois Piasa News Release
The Piasa had a difficult time on the road, dropping both games versus The Louisville Lightning and the Detroit Waza by scores of 15-5 and 12-3 respectively over the weekend.
On a positive note, Player/Assistant Head Coach, Elvir Kafedzic, scored twice versus Louisville and twice again versus Detroit to maintain his place among league goal scoring leaders. He is now number two in the PASL for goals scored with seventeen tallies this season and Roger Gemoules continues to add goals in his sophomore season with eleven goals so far this campaign.
Unfortunately, that is as far as the good news goes. On Saturday, after the Piasa opened up a 2-0 lead, the Louisville Lighting then scored four unanswered goals and repeated the feat when Illinois scored two more en route to their 15-5 victory. The story was remarkably similar the following night in Detroit. The Piasa opened the scoring, and then Detroit began scoring in bunches after the Piasa went out to a 3-2 lead.
The team's next game is at home at the Sports Academy in Glen Carbon, IL versus the Cincinnati Kings with a 7:30pm kick off.
