Phoenix Rising Signs Sadie Schwartz to One-Day Contract Ahead of Phoenix Children's Kick Cancer Night, Saturday at 8 PM

PHOENIX, Arizona - Phoenix Rising FC has signed Sadie Schwartz to a one-day contract, the club announced today.

Schwartz, a patient at Phoenix Children's Center for Cancer & Blood Disorders, is an avid soccer player and Phoenix Rising fan. Schwartz is looking forward to joining the team on a one-day contract and supporting Phoenix Rising.

"My experience being a patient at Phoenix Children's has been nothing short of exceptional," said the 16-year-old soccer fan. "The quality of care I received while I was going through treatment was amazing. The staff, doctors and nurses always made me smile during a difficult time."

Schwartz will serve as the honorary captain at Rising's Kick Cancer Night match this Saturday, August 12 at 8 p.m. She will join the players in the walkout ceremony and participate in the pregame coin toss. Schwartz will also attend the club's training session at 38th St/Washington tomorrow, Friday, August 11, beginning at 8:30 a.m. During the training session, Schwartz will have the opportunity to compete alongside Rising's professional players.

"I would like to pursue pediatric oncology research," said Schwartz when asked about her plans after high school. "I want to create better treatment options and plans for patients."
