Philadelphia Wings to Collect Lacrosse Equipment April 7
March 28, 2013 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Philadelphia Wings News Release
The Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) will host a lacrosse equipment drive to benefit start-up lacrosse programs in the Philadelphia area. The team is asking fans to bring new or slightly used lacrosse equipment to the game against the Minnesota Swarm at Wells Fargo Center on Sunday, April 7.
Equipment donated will be used in part by the HEADstring project, an initiative through the HEADstrong Foundation that collects donated lacrosse sticks to be refurbished and restrung by volunteers and donated to groups unable to afford new equipment. This project helps bring the game of lacrosse to areas that may not otherwise be familiar with the sport and its benefits.
As a way to thank and encourage fans for their donations, the first 250 fans under 18 to donate a piece of equipment for the drive will be invited to participate in a meet and greet session following the game with Wings star Paul Rabil. For more information on the Wings equipment drive and post-game meet and greet, please visit www.WingsLAX.com/Rabil. Tickets for the Wings game at Wells Fargo Center on April 7 are available by phone at 215-389-WING or online at www.WingsLAX.com.
