Philadelphia Wings Host Free "Wings Fest" October 1

The Philadelphia Wings, of the National Lacrosse League, will be hosting a free, open-to-the-public "Wings Fest 2011" at Wells Fargo Center this Saturday, October 1 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event features live entertainment, interactive family activities and appearances from Wings players, alumni, Angels dancers and Mad Dog.

Wings Fest 2011 will take place on the concourse of Wells Fargo Center in the Cure Insurance Club and 11th Street Atrium. Family activities include live DJ entertainment, player and alumni autograph signings and interactive inflatables. Among the Wings players who will be available for autograph signings include #1 draft pick Kevin Crowley, Bill McGlone, Brendan Mundorf, Steve Holmes and Brett Manney.

In addition, the Wings will be hosting its first ever Wings Lacrosse Academy during "Wings Fest." The academy is designed to provide instruction from Wings players and coaches and will include specific sessions on: stick stringing, recruiting, chalk talk Q&A and floor time on the home turf of the Wings.

The academy will also take place at Wells Fargo Center and will be divided into four boys age groups (U17, U15, U13 and U11) with a limited number of spots available in each group. Registration is $100 and includes two tickets to four Wings home games during the 2012 season.

Finally, "Wings Fest" will include the annual season ticket holder select-a-seat event. Wings 2012 season ticket holders that have already renewed their seats will be able to select from the available tagged seats in the arena from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. From 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. any fans interested in securing season tickets for 2012 will be able to select from remaining available tagged inventory.
