
Philadelphia Wings Drop to 2-2 on Season

The Philadelphia Wings dropped to 2-2 on the season after a 15-6 loss to the defending champion Toronto Rock at Wells Fargo Center Saturday.
The Wings were competitive in the first half, leading 4-3 late in the first quarter and trailing just 9-6 at half, but the team was stifled by the Rock defense in the second half and was held scoreless in the final two periods. The Wings were outscored 4-0 in the third quarter and 2-0 in the fourth.
Among the bright spots for the Wings were Brodie Merrill, Kevin Crowley and Dan Dawson who scored one goal and one assist each. David Brock, Mike Hominuck and Ned Crotty also added two points apiece.
The Rock were led by Josh Sanderson with three goals and six assists and set-up man Garrett Billings who tallied eight assists to go along with his one goal.
The Wings will be back in action versus the Buffalo Bandits Sunday, Feb. 12 at 4 p.m. at Wells Fargo Center.
