The Philadelphia KiXX return to the Wachovia Spectrum to entertain the Western Division's San Diego Sockers on Friday, December 3, and then travel to St. Louis, MO to battle the St. Louis Steamers on Sunday, December 5. The first 1,500 patrons, 15 and older, to enter the gates on Friday will receive a complimentary 2004-05 Philadelphia KiXX Dance Team Calendar. Game-time is scheduled for 7:05 pm ET, with the doors opening at 6:00 pm ET. Sunday's contest at the Savvis Center in St. Louis, MO is slated for a 7:05 pm ET kick-off.

Friday's contest is the second of four meetings between Philadelphia and the San Diego Sockers and the last in the City of Brotherly Love this season ... in the clubs' first meeting on November 13, the KiXX defeated San Diego, 4-2 ... defender Edgar Bartolomeu led all scorers with three points (goal, two assists), while five other KiXX players each chipped in with one point ... Mark Ughy and Matt Johnson notched goals for the Sockers and newcomer Nevio Pizzolitto and Paul Wright recorded the assists ... entering the contest, the Sockers' roster features two players in the MISL's top-10 in scoring; Ughy and new addition in 2004-05, Steve Butcher ... Ughy is tied for second in the League with 13 points on a MISL-best 10 goals and three assists, while Butcher trails close behind at tied for sixth with 11 points (eight goals, three assists) ... this past off-season, San Diego acquired Pizzolitto in a deal with the Cleveland Force and Butcher in a trade with the St. Louis Steamers ... last season, the KiXX won the series, three-games-to-one.

The Philadelphia KiXX and the St. Louis Steamers met for the first time in franchise history on November 14, 2003 ... the club defeated the Steamers, 7-3, in that contest and split last season's overall series (2-2) ... the Steamers enter the 2004-05 campaign with new ownership and under the direction of player/coach Daryl Doran ... St. Louis also acquired forward Joe Reiniger, who returns to his hometown after playing the past four seasons with the Milwaukee Wave ... Doran currently leads the Steamers with 17 points (eight goals, nine assists), with Reiniger trailing close behind with 13 (eight goals, five assists) ... the two teams will meet a total of four times this season.
2004-05 Dance Team Calendar Sets Sail: The 2004-05 Philadelphia KiXX Dance Team Calendar is scheduled to debut this Friday, December 3 ... the calendar, a 16-month edition, features each KiXX dance team member in their finest swimsuit attire ... all photos for this season's issue were taken aboard the Battleship New Jersey, which is docked on the Camden Waterfront ... the calendar will then be available for purchase at all Philadelphia KiXX home games in the 2004-05 season.
Home, Sweet Home: The Philadelphia KiXX return home to battle the San Diego Sockers after a one-game road trip that resulted in a 6-3 loss to the Cleveland Force on November 26 ... the club kicked-off their 2004-05 home schedule with a four-game homestand and walked away with a 3-1 record thanks to victories over the defending MISL Champion Baltimore Blast (11/6), San Diego Sockers (11/13) and the international Monterrey Tigres (11/20) ... the lone blemish was a 7-4 loss to the expansion Chicago Storm on November 14.
Penalty-Kill Tops in MISL: The team's penalty-killing unit enters this weekend's contests ranked first in the MISL, turning away all five of the man-down opportunities they have faced in the 2004-05 campaign ... in contrast, the team's power-play unit is sixth in the League, connecting only 37.5 percent (three-of-eight) of the time they have received the man advantage.
Scorin' Goran: KiXX forward Goran Vasic extended his point streak to seven games, connecting on one of the team's three goals in the 6-3 loss to the Cleveland Force on November 26 ... his six-game streak is second on the team to only Pat Morris, who is enjoying an 11-game point streak that dates back to the 2003-04 season ... Vasic is currently tied for third on the team with eight points on two goals and a club-high six assists ... the 32-year-old native of Belgrade, Yugoslavia led Philadelphia in both points (48) and assists (34) last season.
Offense Diminishing: Philadelphia notched a season-high 11 goals in the team's season-opener versus the Cleveland Force on October 23 ... since that contest, the team's offensive production has slowly diminished; the KiXX have scored eight, six, four, four, six and finally three in their last six outings respectively ... prior to the KiXX-Storm contest on November 14, Philadelphia led the MISL in goals per game, but the average has quickly dropped to tied for fourth in the nine-team League at 6.0 goals per game ... the team concluded last season with a 5.4 goals per game average (5th MISL).
Leading the Way: Midfielder Ze Roberto and newcomer John Barry Nusum are both off to a fast start this season ... Nusum registered a pair of points (goal, assist) versus Monterrey on November 20 to assume the top spot on the team (tied 2nd MISL) with 11 points, while Roberto trails close behind (2nd team, tied 9th MISL) with nine ... Roberto, a native of Belem, Brazil, has registered five goals and four assists, while Nusum has notched a team-high eight goals and three assists ... the native of Devonshire, Bermuda has recorded at least one goal in five of his six games this season ... in 33 games last season, Roberto finished with 18 points on seven goals and 11 assists.
U.S. Futsal Report: The United States was eliminated from the FIFA Futsal World Championship Chinese Taipei 2004 with a 3-1 loss to Ukraine on Sunday, November 28 at the National Taiwan University New Gymnasium. After advancing to the second stage for the first time since 1992, the U.S. has zero points in Group F. Brazil leads the group with six points after a 2-1 win over Argentina, while Ukraine and Argentina are at three points each and will do battle on the final match day for the second semifinal spot from the group. The U.S. closes out group play on Wednesday, December 1 versus Brazil.
Force 6, KiXX 3 (11/26): The KiXX fell to the Cleveland Force, 6-3, at the Convocation Center at CSU on November 26 to mark the club's first loss to an Eastern Division opponent this season. Cleveland jumped to an early 1-0 lead as defender Wendell Regis notched his first goal as a member of the Force on an assist from teammate Adauto Neto at 1:19 of the opening quarter. Force midfielder Kyt Selaidopoulos concluded the first period with his first goal to extend the KiXX deficit to two, 2-0, at 14:07. Joel Bailey recorded the assist on the play. Antonio Sutton lengthened the Force advantage, 3-0, with a score off a rebound from Selaidopoulos at 2:59 of the second stanza, before KiXX forward Damien Pottinger finally ended the team's scoring drought with an unassisted tally at 5:41 of the quarter. Neto regained Cleveland's three-point lead, 4-1, with an unassisted dribbling goal at 7:49; the score was his first of the season. KiXX forward Goran Vasic extended his point streak to seven games with a notch at 9:18 of the fourth quarter that brought the club within two, 4-2; the tally broke the team's scoring drought at 33:32. With Vasic serving as sixth attacker, newcomer Gary Brooks cut Philadelphia's deficit to one, 4-3, with a goal (second of the season) on a feed from Les Lunsford at 10:50 of the period. Force midfielder Robbie Aristodemo regained Cleveland's two-point advantage, 5-3, with a score from Sutton at 11:3 and Sipho Sibiya then sealed the victory for Cleveland, 6-3, with a notch from Larkin at 14:53. Peter Pappas (3-1) took his first loss of the season, turning away 20 of the 25 shots he faced, while Jim Larkin (2-3) earned the victory with 19 saves on 22 chances for the Force.
