Philadelphia to Host 2018 NLL Entry Draft, Wings Hold Second Overall Pick

Philadelphia is set to host the 2018 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft at Xfinity Live! on Tuesday, September 25, according to NLL Commissioner Nick Sakiewicz. The draft is free and open to the public with selections beginning at 7 PM.

With the support of the Philadelphia Convention and Visitor's Bureau, the draft will move to Philadelphia after being held in Toronto for eight years, marking the first year the event will be held in the U.S. since 2009 in Buffalo, New York. This Entry Draft will feature inaugural draft classes for both the Philadelphia Wings and San Diego Seals, who will begin play during the 2018-19 season.

"We have a strong core of players already signed to the team," said General Manager and Head Coach Paul Day. "This entry draft will allow us to round out the team with some top talent in the sport. Having the draft in our home city will add to the excitement of the Wings and the sport of lacrosse."

The Wings, who will look to expand their roster since adding nine players in the Expansion Draft, own nine overall selections in the six-round 2018 NLL Entry Draft. In addition to the number two overall pick, Philadelphia possesses the No. 14, No. 25, No. 28, No. 39, No. 40, No. 51, No. 54 and No. 64 selections.

Wings fans will have the opportunity to witness the draft first hand, welcoming the team and their newest crop of talent back to Philadelphia.
