
Philadelphia Soul to hold first annual Soul Summer Slam presented by Champs Sports

PHILADELPHIA â The Philadelphia Soul will host their 1st Annual "Soul Summer Slam," presented by Champs Sports, on Saturday, July 31 from 3-10 p.m. at the 80th Street Field and Windrift Hotel in Stone Harbor, N.J.
Soul Summer Slam is a family festival to benefit the Philadelphia/South Jersey Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Volunteers in Medicine of Cape May County, Stone Harbor Fire Department and Stone Harbor Field Management.
The event kicks off at 3p.m. at the 80th Street Field with a concert sponsored by Champs Sports, featuring rap megastar Doug E. Fresh, renowned saxophonist, Mike Phillips, who is currently on tour with Prince and New Jersey cover band Kirk and the Jirks. Also performing will be the Borgata Philadelphia Soulmates. The 80th Street Field activities conclude at 7 p.m.
At the festival, fans can catch a pass from Soul team President Ron Jaworski, head coach Michael Trigg and Soul players Sean Scott and Keita Crespina. There will also be an array of games including a Pop Shot Basketball, a Mini Golf Hole-In-One Contest, High Striker and Kids High Striker, Phat Catz Deluxe Booth, Pepsi Inflatable Moon Bounce, Pepsi Inflatable Football Challenge, Inflatable Football Toss, US Marines Interactive Area and various other amusements.
Throughout the day, fans have the opportunity to win a variety of prizes and giveaways, including T-shirts, headbands, wristbands and gift cards from Champs Sports. Attendees should also be on the look-out for surprise celebrity guests making special appearances.

The event at 80th Street Field (weather permitting) is $5 for adults, and free for children 12 and under.
Starting at 4 p.m., the fun begins inside of the Windrift Hotel with celebrity bartenders serving up drinks to anyone 21 or older. There is a $10 cover charge to enter the bar, net proceeds of which will go to the four charities.
