
Philadelphia Force to Train in Philly

Philadelphia Force News Release
The Philadelphia Force, who play their home games at ECTB Stadium in Allentown PA, open spring training with their first week in Philadelphia. There will be four days of workouts in South Philadelphia. Workouts for the third-year professional fastpitch team who compete in the NPF will commence on Tuesday, May 13th with two-a-days to be held at the RBI Phillies complex at FDR Park (S. Broad Street & Pattison Ave entrance) in the shadows of Citizens Bank Park.
The public is welcome to attend the sessions which will run until Friday May 16th. Times for each workout are 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. There will not be a Friday afternoon session.
During their stay in Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Force will be making many appearances in the community team members and Belle (the Team Mascot) will spend that afternoon visiting St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, which is located at E. Erie Avenue and N. Front Street in the city. That evening, the Team will be at Chickie's and Petes's, located at 1525 Packer Ave, Philadelphia from 6-8 PM. There will be an autograph session as well as some terrific give-aways that evening.
On Wednesday May 14th, members of the team will be gathering at Ten Stone restaurant at 21st and South Street at 6:30 p.m.
On Saturday May 17th, the Philadelphia Force will give a softball clinic in the afternoon at RBI Phillies complex at FDR Park (S. Broad Street & Pattison Ave entrance) from 12 -3 pm, and then take part in the annual salute to women's softball by the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park that evening when the Phillies face of against the Toronto Blue Jays. The Philadelphia Force will take part in pre and in -game activities as well as be available during the game to meet and greet fans.
Media Day for the Philadelphia media is scheduled for Wednesday, May 14th at RBI Phillies complex at FDR Park (S. Broad Street & Pattison Ave entrance) during the afternoon practice session (1 p.m.-3 p.m.), with a rain date of Thursday, May 15th.
Starting Monday May 19th, the Philadelphia Force returns to the Lehigh Valley as they continue to prepare for the 2008 season and their season opener on May 29th at home versus Team Netherlands.
