Philadelphia Force News Release

The Series

The Philadelphia Force rounds out the 2006 schedule with final homestand of the summer, consisting of eight games back-to-back and three make-up games against the Connecticut Brakettes due to rainouts earlier in the season. The Force takes on the Arizona Heat in a four-game series beginning Wednesday, August 9th and going through Saturday, August 12th. Game time is set for 7:05 PM each night. Immediately following this series, the Chicago Bandits travel to Allentown for four more consecutive games from Sunday, August 13th through Wednesday, August 16th. The Sunday afternoon game between Philadelphia and Chicago is set for 1:05 PM, with the other three games beginning at 7:05 PM. The Force will finish up their regular season with three make-up games against the Brakettes on Monday, August 21st and Tuesday, August 22nd. Monday's game time is set for 7:05 PM and Tuesday will feature a double header with game times set for 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Game recap and box scores will be available following each game at www.philadelphiaforce.com.

The Force look to make some noise in these last eleven games in hopes of breaking out of last place in the NPF standings. After recently dropping all four games to Connecticut in last week's series, the Force will look to capitalize off of eleven straight home games to make a run for the Championship series.

The Opponents

The Arizona Heat currently sits in fifth place in the league with a 17-23 record. Most recently, the Heat was swept by the New England Riptide in four games after sweeping the Hurricanes, an ASA major team, the previous weekend. Arizona is led at the plate by University of Arizona graduate, Autumn Champion, with a .393 batting average and .413 on-base percentage.

This will be the first meeting between Philadelphia and Arizona.
