
Phantoms to open East Division semifinals on Fri vs Norfolk

(PHILADELPHIA) - Featuring the Philadelphia Flyers' stars of tomorrow, the record-setting Philadelphia Phantoms are set to begin their run to the 2005 Calder Cup this weekend vs. the Norfolk Admirals in the American Hockey League's East Division Semifinals.
Starring top goaltending prospect Antero Niittymaki, young Flyers defensemen Joni Pitkanen and Dennis Seidenberg, 2003 first-round draft pick Jeff Carter and Northeast Philadelphia's very own Tony Voce, the Phantoms won an AHL-record 17 straight games earlier in the season and remained one of the league's elite teams throughout the year.
The Phantoms finished second in the East Division with a 48-25-3-4 record (103 points) and will host Games One and Two of the best-of-seven series on Friday, April 22 and Saturday, April 23. Both games will start at 7:05 p.m. at the Wachovia Center.
Norfolk, which is the third seed in the East, will host Games Three and Four on Monday, April 25 and Wednesday, April 27, as well as Game Five, if necessary, on Friday, April 29. All three games begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Norfolk Scope.
If necessary, Games Six and Seven in Philadelphia will be on dates to be determined.
