
Phantoms sign CFL vet Darnell Kennedy

The Florence Phantoms are proud to announce the signing of former CFL and Alabama State Quarterback Darnell Kennedy. Kennedy played in the CFL for the Calgary Stampeders,Ottawa Renegades and the Toronto Argonauts."Darnell is an exceptional athlete who brings leadership to our ball club said VP Bennie King".
At Alabama State Darnell was regarded as one of the top quarterbacks in the nation. In 2001 Kennedy Was named Division I-AA Offensive Player of the Year as well as being named SWAC Offensive Player of the Year. For his career he completed 859 passes for 11,753 and 102 Touchdowns. In 2004 in the CFL Darnell played in 16 games for the Ottawa Renegades completing 69 of 131 attempts for 666 yards 5 Touchdowns and 3 Interceptions.
